University Memorial Center
The University Memorial Center (UMC), located just east of the Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre at the corner of Broadway and Euclid, is considered “the heart of campus,” where students can grab a bite to eat, meet friends, enjoy free entertainment, get involved, shop, bank, study or just hang out!
The UMC gets its name from its designation as the state of Colorado’s official memorial to veterans of war. Housing CU Student Government, the Center for Student Involvement, and offices and resources for student organizations, leadership opportunities and many other student services, the UMC provides a vibrant center for community interaction. It is also a designated campus multicultural center where diversity is celebrated through
food, dance, art, music and the free exchange of ideas.
A wide variety of entertainment is offered regularly at the UMC, including concerts, lectures and festivals in the Glenn Miller Ballroom; local bands and karaoke in Club 156 (an alcohol-free nightclub); free cooking, dance and craft classes; and bowling, billiards and free poker and video game tournaments in The Connection. The public is welcome—visit us!
