Hit the Slopes
Some of the best downhill skiing and snowboarding in the world is available a relatively short distance from Boulder, including Winter Park, Vail, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Eldora, Aspen, Snowmass, Steamboat Springs and many others. National forest and park service lands are open to cross country skiers wherever there’s snow. This map shows nearly all of Colorado’s 25 ski resorts, many of which are less than three hours away, depending on road conditions.

The city of Boulder is surrounded by 45,000 acres of protected open space and has over 300 miles of bikeways that run through town. Hiking, biking and climbing are among the most popular outdoor activities in Boulder. The Boulder Creek offers opportunities for kayaking, tubing and fly fishing.
