There’s something unique about the CU-Boulder campus.
CU-Boulder is recognized as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the nation. Set against a prominent mountain backdrop, its buildings are universally admired for their uniform style of sandstone walls, red tile roofs, limestone trim and black wrought iron accents—all in a classic rural Italian style.
The following is a tour of some of our most notable buildings, along with some useful information about campus life, history and activities. The map will help you navigate the tour as you make your way across campus. For a virtual tour of CU Boulder, please visit colorado.edu/visit.
The CU-Boulder campus architecture, designed by Charles Z. Klauder, was cited in 1976 as one of America’s most significant architectural works. Thomas Gaines ranked it fourth in a review of the 50 “most architecturally successful campuses in the country” in The Campus as a Work of Art.
